Bruce Piatt Places at Back-To-Back Matches with Vihtavuori Powder


Bruce Piatt of Team Vihtavuori has brought home back-to-back 2nd place finishes at both the Flagler and Bianchi Cups.

The 2024 Flagler Cup was hosted by the Pioneer Gun Club in Bates City, MO, May 19 & 20th. Each of the participants competed in the Falling Plates, Moving Target, Barricade, and Practical events. Piatt scored a 1920-178X, securing 2nd place to Army SSG Walter Johnson, who shot a 1920-180X for the win.

The 2024 CMP Bianchi Cup was hosted by the Green Valley Rifle & Pistol Club in Hallsville, MO, May 21-24th. It’s known as the gold standard in action pistol shooting and has a 40+ year history which attracts the world’s foremost competitive shooters. For the 2nd year, the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) governed the international competition and continues to grow the event with more shooters and new divisions.

Piatt, who competes with the 38 Super cartridge powered by Vihtavuori N320 powder, shot one of his best Moving Target events in is 30+ year career, only dropping 5Xs. With near perfect shooting conditions, Piatt was in a tight race with fellow Team Vihtavuori member Doug Koening, who brought home the title.
