The production of increasingly temperature insensitive propellants allows for greatly reduced Extreme Spreads and Standard Deviation, which translates directly to less vertical dispersion on target.

In-House Manufacturing and Proven Craftsmanship
All Vihtavuori propellants are manufactured entirely in-house. Nitrocellulose used in Vihtavuori reloading powders is made at Vihtavuori’s own plant, ensuring complete control over quality.
Vihtavuori reloading powders deliver consistently flawless firing performance, providing reloaders with the reliability and precision they demand. Each stage of the production process is subject to stringent quality control by our experts to ensure that each production lot has the exact ballistic performance required. Every batch produced is inspected by comparing them to selected reference batches.
Powder design and packaging
All Vihtavuori powders for consumers are extruded propellants. Propellant grains are perforated cylinders of various sizes, flat ribbon flakes or other shapes extruded for special applications. The grain geometry of different powder types provides the wanted combustion characteristics for the chosen cartridge application.
Storage and shelf life
Vihtavuori powders are packaged in bottles and containers, with additional protection provided by fiberboard outer boxes. When stored in their original, sealed containers at approximately circa 20 °C and circa 55 % relative humidity, Vihtavuori powders have an estimated minimum shelf life of 10 years.
All Vihtavuori powders are available also in industrial packings.
